The AltBeta project began in late 2023 by a player named __kakao. After his friends were banned from RuBeta, he put in a tremendous amount of work for building the first client and launcher. Now the project is curated by atarwn.

Our long-term goal is to build a fully autonomous ecosystem that is fully compatible with Protocol 14... just because we love this game, okay? While others choose to modify the classic experience with custom blocks or rely on centralized codebases, we believe Beta 1.7.3 deserves a modern, reliable, and completely independent infrastructure that preserves the true classic era for the community.
